Neste mês de Agosto, o artista que vos queremos dar a conhecer é o David Sokosh. David é um fotógrafo americano que utiliza os processos alternativos de impressão fotográfica como meio principal de expressão, nomeadamente a cianotipia. Um dos seus projectos mais recentes é o livro de artista intitulado "Things that Look Like the MOON (but are not the moon), um livro de artista de edição limitada. Trabalha também atualmente no projecto "Past/Present-Memory/Loss" que são fotografias de natureza morta e auto-retratos criadas em celebração da Cultura Material.
Segundo o artista, "There is something mysterious and magical for me in older technologies and objects. They influence my whole life. It's not a yearning for the past. I'm not trying to get back to an imagined better, simpler, time but working to bring great things and ideas from the past into the present. In one of my earliest memories, I must have been three or four years old, I am clutching a 78 record and carrying it around like a toy. I didn't love it because of the song recorded on it, the song is long forgotten, but because it was old. An outdated technology. Different than regular things. Different from what other people wanted."
